Support Systems
In addition to the motor itself, we needed to develop many additional support components to develop complete bolt in solutions for our vehicles. Again, many of the items we needed simply didn't exist.

Engine Management System
After much work, we were able to secure a programmable engine management system which would cleanly interface with OEM Mopar factory sensors, provide complete control of fuel and timing delivery in both normally aspirated and forced induction applications, and which would allow the use of oxygen sensors.

We have standardized this system on all our engine applications. We have gone to great lengths to dial in the tuning for specific engine combinations not only on the dyno, but also tuning done on the street under normal driving conditions to optimize fuel efficiency and smooth operation at low engine loads. This is an essential step in delivering true daily driver status.

EFI Fuel Systems
The factory fuel system in these cars does not support the requirements of a fuel-injected application without significant modifications. We have developed a complete bolt in EFI Fuel System for 69-70 Mopar B bodies and 70-74 E Bodies:

XV EFI Fuel Tank
  • Looks just like a factory tank externally
  • Dual 225lph electric pumps mounted inside the tank
  • Baffled pickup area to provide constant fuel delivery under hard cornering, acceleration and braking
  • Sending unit works with factory gauges
  • Plumbed for feed and return lines
  • Direct bolt in replacement
Stainless Fuel Lines
  • Factory style bends
  • 3/8" Feed
  • 5/16" Return
  • AN fittings on engine compartment end
  • Braided stainless lines w/ AN fittings to go from hard lines to fuel rails
Billet aluminum EFI fuel rails
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
High flow replaceable fuel filter
Electric cutoff safety switch
  • kills fuel pumps in the event of an accident or rollover
Wiring harness and relay

6.1 HEMI Single Plane EFI/Carb Intake Manifold
XV Motorsports has developed an aluminum single plane intake manifold for the 6.1 HEMI engine that will be offered in EFI and carbureted versions. This part was developed to allow a more true to the original application allowing us to mount a four barrel EFI throttle body where a carburetor would traditionally be mounted.

This design allows us to build our vehicles with functional shaker hoods or other factory hood scoops, such as on the Challenger T/A. Additionally, we believe this manifold will be very useful for street rods, hot rods, off-road and full race applications.

Our design was fully developed in CAD and then a prototype made using the Stereo Lithography rapid prototype technique. Stereo Lithography takes the CAD data and builds a physical, three dimensional part out of plastic, essentially printing the plastic out layer by layer. The prototype part was then dyno tested to validate the design prior to going into production.

The EFI version of the XV 6.1 HEMI intake manifold will be sold individually, or as a kit which includes a 1215 CFM polished billet 4 bbl throttle body with IAC and TPS, billet fuel rails and an engine management system with harnesses that works directly with factory original EFI sensors and includes preprogrammed software.

The Carbureted version accepts a standard Holley mounting pattern and will also be sold individually or as a kit.

FEAD
XV Motorsports is developing a billet Front End Accessory Drive ("FEAD") package for the 5.7 and 6.1 HEMI engines. Our desire was to have a compact billet setup that we could use on our vehicles and also offer it to those that wish to run the late model HEMI platform in street rods, hot rods, customs and Jeeps.

The factory FEAD is not compact enough for some of these applications.

Exhaust System
XV Motorsports is having complete exhaust systems produced for our vehicles and will offer them directly for individuals that wish to run 5.7 and 6.1 HEMI engines in 68-70 B and 70-74 E Body Mopars.

These will include long tube ceramic coated headers, polished 304 stainless mandrel bent exhaust systems with integrated bungs for oxygen sensors in 2.5" and 3.0" diameters and matching factory style exhaust tips.

6.1 HEMI Twin Screw Supercharger
XV Motorsports has already begun development of a Twin Screw Supercharger kit for the 6.1 HEMI, which will include an aluminum intake manifold with an integrated air-to-water intercooler. Screw compressors create massive low end torque, developing maximum boost at relatively low RPM levels and have very good adiabatic efficiency.

This design, along with the air-to-water intercooler, will allow compact packaging in virtually any vehicle and not require all the ducting of an air-to-air setup.

XV Motorsports supercharger kits will include everything needed to install the supercharger, including a stand-alone engine management system already programmed for optimal calibration. We are also working on matching camshafts, with profiles designed specifically for forced induction applications.

We expect these kits to be available in the Fall of 2006.
