We have developed two distinct suspension systems for Mopar 68-70 B and 70-74 E body platforms to satisfy the unique needs of two enthusiasts:
XV Level I Suspension
The XV Level I Suspension package is an optimized package of stock-type components engineered for the vehicle owner who wants a factory style suspension that appears to be original, but is optimized to the highest possible level for the specific vehicle.
While it retains stock appearing torsion bars, control arms, sway bars and damper locations, all components have been matched including dampers valved specifically for the vehicle application, with matched spring rates, torsion bar sizes, sway bar sizes. Perhaps most importantly, these components have been designed and optimized for use with modern low-profile high-performance tires.
XV Level II Suspension
The XV Level II Suspension package is a take no prisoners, clean sheet redesign of the suspension utilizing none of the factory type components. Our core objective was to develop lightweight components with optimized geometry in an overall package that is not restricted from making modifications to the vehicle.
The XV Level II Suspension utilizes an SLA (short long arm) double A-Arm suspension with matched adjustable coilover shocks, a redesigned tubular K-Member, variable rate rack and pinion steering, and optimized sway bar with reinforced mounts. The control arms, spindles, K-Member and steering rack are all made of aluminum to minimize weight.
Out back the factory leaf springs are replaced with a three-link rear suspension, with an adjustable upper link (to optimize pinion angle), panhard bar, matching sway bar and matched adjustable coilover shocks. As with the front suspension, all suspension links and the panhard bar assembly are made of aluminum.
The XV Level II suspension is dialed in for high performance driving while not ignoring ride comfort. However, this system is adjustable for ride height, damper settings and more, should the owner choose to utilize the vehicle more aggressively for the track. Moreover, the XV Coilover dampers are fully rebuildable for full race applications.
Chassis stiffening can be used with the XV Level I Suspension and is an integral part of the XV Level II Suspension. Selective stiffening of the vehicle chassis improves both vehicle performance as well as ride comfort by reducing vehicle vibrations, providing an overall improved driving experience whether around town or around the track.
