HOT ROD FEATURES XV 68 CHARGER
11/20/2008
Be sure to check out the January 2009 issue of Hot Rod which has a six page feature on the XV Motorsports 68 Charger. While we have been in every major automotive publication we have tried to get in, it has taken us two and a half years to get into the grand daddy of them all, Hot Rod.
Over the summer, we were really fortunate to have Rob Kinnan, the Editor in charge of Hot Rod visit us here and drive one of our cars. In the article Rob is quoted about his driving impressions:
With the proliferation of Pro-Touring style, over-the-top muscle car builds as are the trend now, I am automatically skeptical when I see one, wondering if it is actually built and engineered to work as well as the sum of its parts or if it is just thrown together with no real thought to actual functionality. In the case of the XV Challenger, which is similar to this Charger from a suspension standpoint, I am not skeptical in the slightest.
XVs John Buscema let me take it on a banzai ride on the public roads near his shop, and the roads were not perfectly smooth by a long shot. The car worked very well, did everything right, and felt exceptionally solid without hammering your fillings out. If you did not know you were in a 70 Challenger, you'd swear you were in a new Corvette.
Label Me Impressed
Rob's impressions mean all the more to us, as he regularly gets to drive the best builds out there and Rob also has a fair bit of road race experience.
We think you will really enjoy this article, so be sure to get a copy and we want to express our sincere thanks to Hot Rod for covering XV.
