RADIATOR – 5.7/6.1 HEMI SWAP
A well designed cooling system was one of our core requirements. We found that typical radiator layouts just weren’t cutting it for us when we began pounding cars on track and worked to develop a package that would meet our needs under the demanding environments we’ve run our cars under.
We’re very happy to now be able to offer you the same solutions we use on the cars we build that make swapping in a 5.7 or 6.1 based HEMI into your Mopar. We’ve fit these in 68-70 B and E body cars and they’ve been working great for us. We can also offer you the correct upper and lower radiator hoses to make installation a snap.
Our radiators available features:
Integral overflow can welded onto the side of the radiator
Billet neck for the radiator cap
Twin high flow fans with blow through shroud – (see note below)
Integral bung for a temperature sensor (for your EMS, switch, etc.)
Top and bottom with finished caps
The fan/shroud assembly is really trick and work great. At low, or no, speed there are flaps that stay closed. As the car increases speed, airflow will pass through these flaps. We’ve found that the fans themselves can be a restriction to airflow and at higher speeds can become a real problem. This design optimizes both situations and we’ve found it to work great at low and high vehicle speeds. Flaps are located at both the top and bottom of the fan shroud. Check out the additional pictures and you’ll see what these flaps look like.
This is a really nice piece and beautifully constructed. You may have to relocate your horns and windshield washer bottle to install. If you are running a factory battery tray it may need to be clearanced, or you can relocate it to the trunk like we do.
Currently we have these set up for 5.7 and 6.1 HEMI based engines that have the CAR timing cover. We will also be offering an identical setup with the TRUCK timing cover – call for availability of the TRUCK version.
There are a number of additional pictures of the radiator, including installed shots. Click the link above to see these.
